Massage Benefits

Most people don't come in broken.  They come in holding a lot - Sometimes pain, sometimes tension, sometimes simply too much time bracing.

Sessions are guided by what your body presents that day.  Some visits can be focused and therapeutic. Others quieter and more tranquil.  Often, they are both.

The work addresses injury, strain, and persistent discomfort while also allowing the nervous system to soften - because pain and tension rarely live only in the tissues.

You don't need to know exactly what to book or how to explain it.

We start where you are and adjust together.

Common reasons people come in

Benefits of massage therapy are known to include effective reduction and management of pain, alleviation of depression and anxiety, improved immune function, reduction of inflammation, improved body awareness, decrease in stress hormones, enhanced healing of scar tissue, improved sleep, reduction of muscle tension, improved joint mobility, improved posture, and improved lymphatic drainage.

Massage therapy can be used in the treatment of both acute and chronic stages of conditions. While massage therapy can benefit the injured, the ill and the stressed, the strength of massage therapy in preventing illness and conditions before they develop should not be overlooked.

The effectiveness of massage therapy has been shown for the following conditions:

  • Cancer-related fatigue.
  • Low back pain.
  • Osteoarthritis of the knee.
  • Reducing post-operative pain.
  • Boosting the body’s immune system functioning.
  • Decreasing the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.
  • Lowering blood pressure.
  • Reducing headache frequency.
  • Decreasing pain in cancer patients
